Motorcyclist killed in Bushwick crash

BUSHWICK — BUSHWICK RESIDENT PHILIPPE Haussmann, 29, was killed on Tuesday morning after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Scott and Flushing avenues. Police said that Haussmann had been riding the motorcycle heading north on Scott Avenue and then collided with the driver’s-side fender of a truck heading west through the intersection on Flushing Avenue, ejecting him onto the roadway, where he was pronounced dead by paramedics; the driver of the truck remained at the scene and was not charged.

Haussmann is the third person to be killed in the last week in a motorbike accident: teenager Juared Umedjon died on Monday after his e-bike crashed into a turning truck, while motorcyclist Carlos Rosa was killed last Wednesday after being struck by a Jeep.
