CITYWIDE — NEW YORK CITY HAS reached a tentative five-and-a-half-year contract agreement with the roughly 600 members of the United Probation Officers’ Association, Mayor Eric Adams and Office of Labor Relations Commissioner Renee Campion announced Friday. The agreement, retroactive to Nov. 28, 2020, includes wage increases of 3% for each of the first four years and 3.25% in the fifth year, plus a lump sum ratification bonus of between $3,600 and $5,080. Effective Nov. 28, 2024, probation officers’ starting salaries will range from $61,386 to $81,000, and supervisors’ salaries will start at $86,500 and advance to $95,100. The $52 million cost of the raises is “fully funded” in the financial plan, Adams said in a release.

Over the last 18 months, the city has negotiated contracts with unions representing nearly 97 % of the city’s workforce.
