Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeals ruling kicking him off New York ballot
ALBANY — INDEPENDENT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday filed an appeal in Albany after Justice Christina Ryba ruled this week that the New York residence listed on his nominating petitions was a “sham” address, AP reports. The judge ruled in favor of Kennedy’s challengers, who argued his actual residence was the home in Los Angeles he shares with his wife, the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Cheryl Hines. Kennedy claims he legally resides in a room rented from a friend at 84 Croton Lake Road in Katonah, though he is not the owner of the property which is currently in foreclosure, is not listed as living there, and has never been seen there by longtime neighbors, according to the Guardian.
Kennedy said in paperwork that he receives mail at the address, has various New York licenses registered there and plans to live in New York after his wife retires. In a press release, he called Justice Ryba “partisan” and claimed the ruling was “an assault on New York voters.”
