WASHINGTON, D.C. — REP. YVETTE CLARKE (D-9) on Wednesday joined other elected officials from across the nation to introduce the bipartisan Save Our Safety-Net Hospitals Act (SOS Hospitals Act), which would prevent massive cuts to New York hospitals’ Medicaid payments. “New York’s safety net hospitals are an invaluable resource for our state’s most vulnerable patients, and Medicaid DSH funding is necessary for keeping their operations running,” Clarke said in a release.

Clark’s Central Brooklyn district includes public hospitals NYC Health + Hospitals / Kings County and SUNY Downstate University Hospital, One Brooklyn Health-affiliated hospitals Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital and Mount Sinai Brooklyn.
