The Red Cross aided 112 people across NYC last week, 24 in Brooklyn
CITYWIDE — AFTER 19 EMERGENCIES across NYC, the American Red Cross in Greater New York said on Monday it helped 112 people across the five boroughs between Aug. 5-12. The organization aided 24 people affected by four fires in Brooklyn, including fires on East 19th Street, Lincoln Place, Prospect Place and Ryder Avenue. In addition, the group helped 38 people in the Bronx, 21 people in Manhattan and 29 in Queens. Aid includes temporary lodging and/or financial assistance to meet the families’ immediate needs, plus information packets, cleanup kits, comfort kits with personal care items, snacks, water and other items.
