Goldman joins Offshore Wind Caucus, boosts Brooklyn as wind-power hub
NATIONWIDE — REP. DAN GOLDMAN (D-10) on Friday announced that he has joined the bipartisan Congressional Offshore Wind Caucus, which pushes for policies to improve offshore wind technology, increase investment in the offshore wind workforce and position the U.S. as a global leader in the industry. Goldman has been working to bring offshore wind projects to NY-10, and is chair of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Task Force. “I remain committed to making sure that New York becomes the offshore wind capital of the United States,” he said in a release.
In June, Goldman and Mayor Eric Adams broke ground on the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Red Hook. When completed, it will be the largest offshore wind staging, operations and maintenance port in the United States and the staging area for Empire Wind 1, the first offshore wind project to plug directly into the NYC power grid.
