Expect lane closures on Williamsburg Bridge next week
WILLIAMSBURG — COMMUTERS USING THE WILLIAMSBURG BRIDGE, prepare for lane closures for a week starting on Monday, Aug. 12, the NYC Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The lane closures will be in effect until Monday, Aug. 19, with at least one lane in each direction available at all times. Manhattan-bound inner roadway closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. During the same days, the outer roadway is scheduled for closure from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. An inner or outer roadway closure is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during those days. The Brooklyn-bound inner roadway will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the outer roadway from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. The weekend of Aug.17-18, the outer roadway will be completely closed.
The walkway & bikeway continue to be narrowed at work zones as required for a maximum of fifty feet. Pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to use caution. At least one lane in each direction will be available at all times.
