Person struck by train; IRT lines in Brooklyn suspended

GRAND ARMY PLAZA — A PERSON WAS STRUCK BY A TRAIN NEAR GRAND ARMY PLAZA on Tuesday morning, and the 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines were suspended, the MTA announced at 10:30 a.m. Earlier Tuesday morning the MTA was alerting commuters that southbound IRT 2 and 3 trains in Brooklyn were running express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to the Franklin Avenue express station near Medgar Evers College and skipping Bergen St. Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway. An MTA announcement on its website indicated “We’re requesting NYPD assistance with someone on the tracks at Grand Army Plaza.”

The 2,3,4 and 5 have since resumed service, the MTA announced.
