The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association (BWBA) recently upheld its annual tradition with a “Paint and Sip” event held at Fornino’s Pizzeria in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The gathering, which featured a picturesque view of the Manhattan skyline, was led by BWBA Vice President Justice Genine Edwards, Vice President Danielle Ciraola and Recording Secretary Lauren Arnel.

BWBA members, including lawyers and judges, found inspiration for their paintings while enjoying music, pizza and drinks provided by Music Paint Sip. The event served as a unique opportunity for professional bonding and creative expression amid the slower summer months, a period when many bar associations typically pause their activities.

Maintaining regular gatherings during the summer is meant to help strengthen member connections and energize them for more serious educational meetings and events. The bar association makes an effort every year to host events like this to keep events fun instead of simply educational.

The “Paint and Sip” event is not the only activity on the BWBA’s summer calendar. On Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m., the association will host an online “Lunch with a Judge” event featuring Hon. Ben Darvil of the Kings County Family Court.

This virtual meeting will offer BWBA members insights into Judge Darvil’s background and his approach to managing his courtroom, providing valuable professional development for the participants.
