Seth Low Park is starting point for Saturday’s community cleanup
BENSONHURST — SETH LOW PARK, strategically located at the intersection of Bay Parkway, Avenue P and West 12th St., and near Kings Highway, will be the starting point for a community cleanup that two local elected officials are sponsoring on Saturday, Aug. 3. Assemblyman William Colton (D-47), who represents Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights, and City Councilmember Susan Zhuang (D-43), whose district shares some of these neighborhoods in common, will hold the community cleanup from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. After gathering at Seth Low Park, volunteers will fan out to declutter portions of Bay Parkway and Kings Highway. This Saturday’s cleanup will be done in partnership with the Chinese American Social Services Center. Assemblyman Colton has led community cleanups focusing on the area’s bustling business areas for over a decade, aided by Councilmember Zhuang, his then-chief-of-staff. The duo will continue to sponsor cleanups along the neighborhood’s busy commercial strips through the summer and fall.
“Each time we do a cleanup, I am impressed by the dedication of the volunteers who show up to help beautify their community,” said Assemblyman Colton.
