Members of the Brooklyn Bar Association (BBA) gathered at Coney Island on Tuesday night to witness the Brooklyn Cyclones secure a rare win during their challenging season. The Cyclones defeated the Rome Emperors 3-1 in a game highlighted by strong performances from Nick Morabito, who had two hits, and Christopher Suero, who contributed two hits and two RBIs.

The outing has been a regular summer event for the BBA, though it had been on hiatus for several years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tradition was notably popular during the presidency of Hon. Frank Seddio, a former Surrogate Court judge, who once drew over 50 members to the game. Current BBA president Anthony Vaughn hopes to see a return to those high attendance numbers.

Designed as a purely social event, the Cyclones game provides BBA members with an opportunity to relax and enjoy each other’s company away from the pressures of the courtroom and boardroom. There are no speeches, awards, or lectures, only a networking event prior to the game that allows members to connect on a more personal level.

This year, about 25 BBA members attended the game, enjoying not only the camaraderie but also the excitement of seeing the Cyclones pull off a victory.
