PROSPECT HEIGHTS — THE BROOKLYN BOTANIC Garden’s Jazz in July weekly concert series starts Thursday, offering live performances from local musicians, activities and a pop-up bar serving drinks and snacks. The series is part of the garden’s summer Natural Attractions presented along with area arts organizations. A Plant Pollinator Love Story program aims to encourage visitors to protect pollinator insects through eco-conscious gardening choices. The July 11 concert features the Brownstone JAZZ Ensemble and a pollinator plants and art tour. The July 18 concert features a community chorus with artist-in-residence Patrick Costello and a set of Haitian music and stories performed by Jonathan Michel’s L’Ouverture. The July 25 concert features Afro-Caribbean band Blakk and a Disability Pride month art workshop.

All activities will kick off at 6 p.m. with performances starting at 7 p.m. Jazz in July is free with Garden admission, which can be purchased on the garden’s website.
