STATEWIDE — COVID-19 HOSPITALIZATIONS ACROSS the state are more than double the rate seen this time last year, Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a release Saturday. NYC is also seeing a steady increase in reported cases, according to the city’s Department of Health. (Hospitalizations are below the rates seen during the same period in 2022, however.) New variants and summer social gatherings are contributing to the recent increase, Hochul said. She urges people to get tested, stay current with vaccines and seek treatment if necessary.

Under the Affordable Care Act, most health insurance plans will cover the total cost of COVID-19 vaccines. Uninsured individuals can get vaccinated free at community health centers or through the HHS Bridge Access Program. Visit: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home
