Early-morning BQE single-lane closures continue through July 31

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — ONE LANE IN EACH DIRECTION on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway’s Triple Cantilever section will continue to be closed during the early morning hours until July 31, according to the NYC Department of Transportation. The closures are on slightly different schedules depending on direction.

One Queens-bound lane will be closed from Atlantic Avenue to Washington Street (the Atlantic Avenue entrance ramp will also be closed) Monday to Friday from 12:01 to 5 a.m., Saturday from 1 to 6 a.m. and Sunday from 1 to 9 a.m. One Staten Island-bound lane will be closed from the Vine Street entrance ramp to Atlantic Avenue Tuesday to Friday from 1 – 5:00 a.m., Saturday from 1 to 6 a.m. and Sunday from 1 to 9 a.m. All lanes will be open on July 4.

These closures are required for core extraction and testing along the BQE, and concrete removal and installation of reinforcement for interim repairs, and are dependent on weather and field conditions, DOT said in a release.
