Free kids’ summer meals program begins this week

CITYWIDE — THE CITY’S YOUTH summer meals program began on Thursday, reports CBS News, offering free breakfast and lunch to kids under age 18 until Aug. 30. The meals will be served at locations including public schools, pools, parks and libraries, with breakfast available from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and lunch available from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. A food truck will also be stationed at Prospect Park, on Parkside and Ocean avenues, serving food between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekends. 

No ID or registration is required to get food; menus and meal locations, as well as more information, can be found online on the NYC public schools website.
