CITYWIDE — NYC’S WEBSITE SET UP to distribute 10,000 tickets to prime July 4 fireworks viewing crashed within 5 minutes Wednesday after more than a million people tried to log on, Gothamist reports. Only 2,000 tickets were distributed before it melted down. The city will try again Thursday to release the remaining tickets, starting at 10 a.m. The site is run by a third party, City Hall told Gothamist, adding the company “has addressed the technical issues that resulted in the crash.”

The tickets allow standing room at Piers 45 and 84 in Hudson River Park, ideal viewing for the spectacular that is moving back to the West Side of Manhattan this year. To try for tickets, visit www.nycjuly4.com.
