The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was awarded esteemed silver-level recognition. The Beacon Award for Excellence symbolizes exceptional care in a unit prioritizing patients and encompasses three distinct modules: patient outcomes, work environment and nursing workforce. All three units met the evidence-based criteria for the Beacon Award: leadership structures and systems, appropriate staffing and staff engagement, effective communication, knowledge management, learning and development, evidence-based practice and processes and outcome measurement.
