
South Brooklyn stands for Israel; electeds & community leaders rally for release of hostages held by Hamas this Sunday
Brooklyn Community Celebrates 76 Years of Israel’s Independence & Calls for Release of Hostages

SHEEPSHEAD BAY — This Sunday, May 19th, elected officials, community organizations, advocates and leaders will rally at the South Brooklyn Stands With Israel event at the Holocaust Memorial Park.
Elected officials – including Assemblymember and Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, Assemblymember William Colton and Council Member Susan Zhuang – will call for the release of the hostages captured by Hamas during the October 7 terrorist attack, while commemorating Israel’s 76 years of independence.
Amplifying the call will be prominent community advocates Joey Saban – Democratic candidate for NYS Assembly (AD 45) and Brooklyn Democratic Party District Leaders.
Also joining are leaders of community and faith-based organizations Run for Their Lives, Temple Beth El of Manhattan Beach, Manhattan Beach Jewish Center, Congregation Shaary Torah, Ohel David & Shlomo, Jewish Explores, Enough is Enough, Sephardic Community Alliance, Beach Haven Community Center, Jewish Parent Academy, and more.
