CALIFORNIA — Nature’s revenge? Hurricane! And an earthquake! Vehicles crossed over a flood control basin that had almost engulfed the street in Palm Desert, Sunday. Forecasters said that Tropical Storm Hilary was the first of its kind to hit Southern California in almost a century, bringing the potential for flash floods, mudslides and isolated tornadoes, as well as high winds and power outages. A possible extra four inches of rain was possible for parts of Nevada and California on Monday. Additionally, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake also hit SoCal on Sunday, although Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said there were no major damages.
