A Bay Ridge tradition that was put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic is back this winter as the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association will once again host its annual Christmas-time event.

Breakfast with Santa will take place at Sirico’s Caterers on 13th Avenue in Dyker Heights on December 10.

The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes through 3 p.m. with a letter to Santa and crafts event starting at 11, a breakfast buffet from noon until 1 p.m., a photobooth starting at noon, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at 1:30 p.m. There will be activities, games and crafts for the kids throughout the event and an ugly sweater contest for adults and children.

“The last time we did it we had Build-A-Bear and we’re trying to get that back,” said Past President Margaret Stanton, who helped to create the event with fellow Past President Joann Monaco. “We have crafts, games and we have had a lot of fun. Please bring an unwrapped toy for the children of the servicemen at Fort Hamilton. Teenagers who need service credits can come dressed as elves and help the kids with crafts.

“It is for the family, bring your children, your grandchildren, your nieces, your nephews,” Stanton continued. “Please come and show your support. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be there.”

The BRLA has decided to wait until January to host its holiday party to avoid the always-busy December month. It will host its party on January 12 at Encore on Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge.
