Judge Diane Gujarati installed in EDNY during ceremony

Judge Diane Gujarati was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 10, 2020, and finally got her investiture ceremony in the Honorable Jack B. Weinstein Ceremonial Courtroom in the Eastern District of New York on Thursday, October 20. Judge Gujarati was initially nominated by President Barack Obama but was not confirmed until after she was re-nominated by President Donald Trump.

The judge was a graduate of Yale Law School in 1995. From 1995 until 1996, she worked as a law clerk for Hon. John M. Walker, Jr., and from 1996 to 1999, she was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. From 1999 until 2020, she served as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Until 2020, she was the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.
