INDONESIA — Flowers: A man threw flowers outside Kanjuruhan Stadium where a soccer stampede killed more than 100 people on Saturday, in Malang, on Tuesday. An Indonesian police chief and nine elite officers were removed from their posts on Monday and 18 others were being investigated for responsibility in the firing of tear gas inside a soccer stadium that set off a stampede, officials said.

ECUADOR — Riot: A woman cried holding her child as she waited for news of her loved one held inside Latacunga jail after a deadly riot in Latacunga, on Tuesday. A clash between inmates armed with guns and knives inside the prison left at least 15 people dead and 20 injured.

FRANCE — Hair chop: Women rode bicycles front of a mural signed by Clacks-one and Heartcraft_Street art, depicting women cutting their hair to show support for Iranian protesters standing up to their leadership over the death of a young woman in police custody, in a tunnel in Paris, on Wednesday. FLORIDA — Lift off: A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and the Dragon capsule, with a multinational crew of four astronauts, lifted off from Launch Complex 39-A on Wednesday, at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, beginning a five-month mission to the International Space Station.

INDIA — Ramleela portraits: Artists dressed as Hindu god Ram and his wife Sita took a selfie before a final Ramleela performance as part of Dussehra festival celebrations in New Delhi, on Wednesday. Ramleela is a dramatic folk re-enactment of the life of Hindu lord Rama. After the enactment of the legendary war between Good and Evil, the Ramleela celebrations climax in the Dussehra night festivities where the giant effigies of demon King Ravana, his brother Kumbakaran and son Meghnad are burnt, typically with fireworks.

EL SALVADOR — State of emergency: Maria Orlanda Renderos waits outside a detention center for information about her son Jose who was arrested under the current state of emergency in San Salvador, late on Wednesday. Authorities reported that since the state of emergency was implemented to combat violence, they have captured more than 54,000 people, most of them accused of being part of criminal structures or collaborating with gangs.

THAILAND — Attack: In this image taken from video, a distraught woman was comforted outside the site of an attack at a daycare center, on Thursday, in the town of Nongbua Lamphu.
