The New York Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO, (Hotel Trades Council for short), has announced their backing of Senator Kevin Parker in the August Primary for the 21st District. The Hotel Trades Council is the 40,000+ member union for hotel and gaming workers in New York and Northern New Jersey.

This announcement comes on the heels of other powerful unions endorsing Kevin Parker in his re-election to State Senate – including 1199SEIU, the NYS Public Employees Federations (NYS PEF), the District Council of Carpenters and TWU Local 100, and others.

Long considered one of the best-organized and most politically savvy unions in New York, the Hotel Trades Council endorsement is much sought after, and brings a record of electoral success unparalleled in New York. The Parker campaign was thrilled to add another major union endorsement ahead of the now-August State Senate primary.

“My history with the Hotel Trades Council goes way back, and I am pleased to once again receive their support. The Hotel Trades Council saw New York through some of our darkest days,” said State Senator Kevin Parker. “Many HTC members are also my constituents, so it isn’t hard for me to listen when they speak about what the priorities are for New York’s working class. I’d like to thank Rich Maroko and the 40,000 Hotel Trades Council members for their support, and I look forward to continuing to be their advocate in Albany in this next term.”

Congressional and New York State Senate primaries take place on Tuesday, August 23rd. For more information where and how to vote visit www.Vote.NYC.
