UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Dubai Ride: Bicyclists rode on a major highway with the Museum of the Future and Emirates Towers behind them in Dubai, on Friday. The annual Dubai Ride had authorities shut down the skyscraper-lined superhighway that cuts through the center of the city-state to allow bicyclists to ride on it. Organizers say 32,750 people took part in the ride on Friday.

ISRAEL — Women of the Wall: A member of the Women of the Wall clutched a Torah scroll, as she was surrounded by Israeli security forces holding back protesters at the Western Wall, the holiest site where Jews can pray, in the Old City of Jerusalem, on Friday. Thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews gathered at the site to protest against the Jewish women’s group that holds monthly prayers there in a long-running campaign for gender equality at the site.
