BBA Volunteer Lawyers Project appoints two new board members

The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) announces the appointment of two new members to its board of directors following election at the organization’s meeting held on Oct. 6, 2021. 

Joining the VLP’s Board of Directors are Lydia Keaney Reynolds, interim senior legal counsel at FARFETCH, and Elena Bonifacio, director of people operations at Cameo.

“I am thrilled to join the board of the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project and support the great work to ensure that all Brooklynites have fair and equal access to justice,” said Ms. Bonifacio. 

“I am delighted to be joining the board of directors of the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project. As an attorney and a resident of Brooklyn, it is an honor to serve an organization with a long history of providing vital legal services to the people of Brooklyn,” said Ms. Reynolds.

As the Volunteer Lawyers Project continues to make strides, the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic weigh heavily on the community every day. The organization says it is committed to closing the justice gap by engaging leaders like Ms. Bonifacio and Ms. Reynolds and expanding its network and partnerships within New York-based law firms and businesses. 

“We are excited to welcome Elena and Lydia to the VLP’s Board of Directors. As longtime Brooklynites, their undeniable passion for helping their community combined with such unique and diverse professional talents, will help drive the successful advancement of the organization’s mission and elevate our core values — respect, dignity, and justice,” said Stephen Z. Ms. Bonifacio and Ms. Reynolds join a 23-member board that oversees the VLP’s governance and strategic development including: Lynn E.
