Eric Adams for Mayor
BROOKLYN — After two terms of Bill de Blasio, New York City will head to the polls next Tuesday to select a new Mayor. While there are other key races to consider, the Brooklyn Eagle knows the most important selection on November 2nd will be casting your ballot for Eric Adams for Mayor.
Eagle readers are of course familiar with Adams who finishes his second term as Brooklyn Borough President at the end of this year. While the office of Borough President has unique responsibilities and a modest portfolio, Adams additional background as an NYPD Police Captain and New York State Senator provide New York City residents with a special opportunity to put someone in City Hall fueled with a hardscrabble and local upbringing, but also brings a breadth of experience needed for a city at a key crossroads.
Many close watchers of politics in New York City might suggest Adams’ laser focus on public safety won him the Democratic nomination over a tough field of qualified candidates, but equally important to the Eagle is his pro-business mentality. In addition to safe streets, New York City needs more housing, a booming tourism and hospitality industry, a world class education system, and a greener and more sustainable city.
