ISRAEL — Beauty Heroines: Holocaust survivors got their makeup ready during an event called Beauty Heroines, in Herzliya, on Monday. Organizers said the “makeover” event for 90 Holocaust survivors was a gesture toward elderly Holocaust survivors who endured the horror of the Nazi genocide of World War II that killed 6 millions Jews.

RUSSIA — Disinfecting: An employee of the Federal State Center for Special Risk Rescue Operations of Russia Emergency Situations disinfected an area near a station chapel inside Savyolovsky railway station in Moscow, on Tuesday. The daily number of COVID-19 deaths in Russia hit another high on Tuesday amid a surge in infections that forced the Kremlin to order most Russians to stay off work starting this week.

JAPAN — Former Princess: Japan’s former Princess Mako, left, the elder daughter of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko, and her husband Kei Komuro, arrived for a press conference to announce their marriage, at a hotel in Tokyo, on Tuesday. Former Princess Mako married the commoner and lost her royal status on Tuesday in a union that split public opinion after a three-year delay caused by a financial dispute involving her new mother-in-law.
