The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is advising motorists of closures of the Exit 27 ramp from eastbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, on or about Wednesday, October 13th through approximately Monday, October 18th. Wednesday and Thursday closures are scheduled from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. each morning. The weekend closure is scheduled from 12:01 a.m. Friday morning and continuing to 5 a.m. Monday morning.

To access Atlantic Avenue during these closures, motorists should take Exit 28A (Cadman Plaza West) and follow the signed detour.

Inclement weather could cause these closures to be rescheduled.

These closures are needed to facilitate work on NYSDOT’s pavement preservation project that is taking place in Queens, Brooklyn, and Richmond Counties.

For real-time travel information, motorists should check New York State’s official traffic and travel information source, 511NY, before traveling. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
