IRAQ — Arbaeen festival: Shiite pilgrims celebrated between the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas for the Arbaeen Shiite festival in Karbala, on Monday. The holiday marked the end of the forty-day mourning period after the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson in the 7th century.

UKRAINE — New champion: World heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk attended a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday. Usyk became the world heavyweight champion after just three fights in the division by beating Anthony Joshua on Saturday.
