INDIA — Farmers protest: A farmer blocking traffic, center, refused with folded hands as a woman on a motorcycle, left, requested the right of way Singhu, outskirts of New Delhi, on Monday. On Monday, thousands of Indian farmers blocked traffic on major roads and railway tracks outside of the nation’s capital, calling on the government to rescind agricultural laws that they say will shatter their livelihoods. The farmers called for a nationwide strike to mark one year since the legislation was passed, marking a return to protests that began over a year ago.

BOLIVIA — Vicuña: Aymara Indigenous men cornered wild vicuña into a temporary corral inside the Apolobamba protected nature reserve, their natural habitat near the Andean village of Puyo Puyo, on Sunday. Once over-hunted and on the brink of extinction, vicuñas nowadays are protected in Bolivia, where Aymara shear and release the animals, to use the hair to make clothing.
