BRITAIN — Trimming: Gardener Gemma Hearn looked up as she posed for photographs whilst making a final trim of the Hampton Court Maze before it reopens to the public, at Hampton Court Palace, on Friday. The maze, which was first planted in 1689 and is the oldest hedge maze in Britain, reopened to visitors on Saturday after being closed since the beginning of the UK's coronavirus outbreak in March 2020. TURKEY — Wildfires: Local villagers tried to get a fire under control in Kirli village near the town of Manavgat, in Antalya province, early on Friday. The fire that continued all night could not be brought under control and people living in the village started to evacuate. Wildfires are common in Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean regions during the arid summer months, although some previous forest fires have been blamed on arson.
