INDIA — Cyclone: Fishermen tried to move a fishing boat to safer ground on the Arabian Sea coast in Mumbai on Monday. Cyclone Tauktae moved toward India’s western coast on Monday as authorities tried to evacuate hundreds of thousands of people and suspended COVID-19 vaccinations in one state.

KASHMIR — Broken glass: A Kashmiri man watched from a damaged house during a gun battle between government forces and suspected rebels on the outskirts of Srinagar, on Monday. According to police, two suspected rebels were killed in a counterinsurgency operation that was launched by the forces based on a tip about the presence of rebels in a Srinagar neighborhood.
