BOLIVIA — Alasita Fair: A small statue of “Ekeko,” the god of prosperity, stood during the annual “Alasita” Fair, which translates as the Buy Me Fair, in La Paz on Sunday. People attended the opening day of the fair to buy tiny replicas of things they aspire to acquire during the year, like homes, cars, and wealth, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

MEXICO — Demonstration: A feminist activist spat fireballs during a protest in front of the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico City on Monday. The demonstrators were denouncing the rape and murder of thousands of women over the last few years.

INDIA — Republic Day protest: Protesting farmers jumped police barricades to march to the capital during India’s Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on Tuesday. Tens of thousands of farmers drove a convoy of tractors into the Indian capital as the nation celebrated Republic Day in the backdrop of agricultural protests that have grown into a rebellion and rattled the government.

COLOMBIA — Going home: On Friday, Street vendors left Bolivar Square at the start of an official continuous multi-day curfew to contain the spread of new coronavirus infections, in Bogota. Colombia’s capital city reimposed lockdown measures as COVID-19 infections rose around the country.

PHILIPPINES — Kobe Bryant anniversary: People walked on a giant mural of former NBA basketball player Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna on a basketball court in Taguig on Tuesday. Artists in this tenement building gathered and painted these images to commemorate Bryant’s death. Bryant, his daughter, and 7 others died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020.

NETHERLANDS — Quiet: A drawbridge and a deserted street were seen during curfew in the center of Amsterdam on Saturday night as The Netherlands entered its toughest phase of anti-coronavirus restrictions to date, imposing a nationwide night-time curfew from 9 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. in a bid to control the COVID-19 infection rate.
