PERU — Looking ahead: In Lima on Tuesday, Shamans held a photo of U.S. President-elect Joe Biden during a year-end ritual to predict political and social issues to occur in the next year. The shamans made a symbolic payment to Mother Earth while asking that the COVID-19 pandemic come to an end and that world leaders be cleansed so they can make wise decisions in the coming year.

INDIA — On the front lines: Elderly women farmers sat in the back of a trailer as they participated in a protest against new farm laws at the Delhi-Haryana state border, on the outskirts of New Delhi, Sunday. From students, teachers and nurses to housewives and grandmothers, women are now holding the front lines at the massive protests that have blockaded key highways leading to India’s capital for more than a month, demanding the repeal of new farm laws.
