Long before the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers baseball team won the pennant — and then departed for sunny LA, streetcars made commuting an electrifying experience. These photos, compliments of noted science fiction writer and publisher Andrew Porter, are herewith shared with our readers.

Please, you can easily come up with a better definition of Brooklyn than (ending) with Brooklyn has never been ‘uncool’. That word alone is uncool. Try harder. – While Brooklyn has become the epitome of ‘cool and hip’ in recent years, for those that were born here, raised families here and improved communities over the years, Brooklyn has never been ‘uncool’.
Try ‘Brooklyn has never been anything less than cool’ or ‘For others throughout the world Brooklyn has always been the definition of ‘cool’.
