The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association will get a chance to sit down with Justice Ellen Spodek when its popular “Lunch with a Judge” lecture series makes a virtual return on Wednesday via Zoom.

Justice Spodek, who is the president of the Brooklyn Brandeis Society, will sit down with members over Zoom to chat for an hour. “Lunch with a Judge” topics vary during each meeting, as some judges will talk about their courts, their professional rise, or about pertinent new laws that affect the legal community.

Justice Spodek is coming off of a couple months of serving as acting administrative judge of the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term, where she filled in for Administrative Judge Lawrence Knipel, who was briefly hospitalized with COVID-19. As a result, there will likely be questions for the judge about her experience and recent changes to the court as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The event is designed to give members of the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association an opportunity to meet and get to know the local judiciary in a relaxed atmosphere. This month’s event starts at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
