Brooklyn College senior Samuel Meyerovich, a four-year member of the Bulldogs’ men’s tennis team, was named a Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention recipient by the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

Meyerovich, a graduate of Brooklyn Tech High School and a Macaulay Honors student, joins fellow seniors Tamila Latif-Zade of the women’s tennis team and David Melman of the men’s basketball team, who were also recognized as stellar student-athletes by CUNYAC earlier this year.

“Thank you for this award. It hasn’t been easy to balance college tennis with my academics,” Meyerovich said.

“Although tennis season is only in the spring, it was important to keep on the court practicing year round,” he added. “I’d like to thank my teammates and coach for being flexible with my schedule, allowing me to focus on academics when necessary.”

Meyerovich carries a 3.69 GPA while majoring in Biology with aspirations of becoming a doctor, according to the school’s website.

Playing every position in both singles and doubles during his career at BC, he entered his final season with a 12-13 singles record and a 13-16 doubles mark.

Meyerovich also helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back CUNYAC Championship semifinal appearances.
