SFC Women’s Head Soccer Coach Justine Lombardi, who helped the Terriers navigate their inaugural campaign in 2019, announced the signing of former Long Island University defender Mia Rose Daly on Tuesday.

“We couldn’t be more excited to add Mia to the roster,” said Lombardi.

“She is a fantastic player, with two years of experience playing in the NEC under her belt. Most importantly, she fits right in with our tight-knit group.”

Daly, a native of Haiku, Hawaii, comes to Remsen Street following two seasons with the rival Sharks. She was the only LIU player to start every contest during the 2019 campaign, logging 1,573 minutes on the pitch.

“Mia is a great student. Very responsible, dedicated to her fitness and loves the game. (She’s) a coach’s dream,” Lombardi added. “We can’t wait to have her with us out on the field this Fall.”

Daly will join fellow newcomers Elizabeth Lewis, Barbara Zagonyi, Lauren Schultz and Ashtyn Van Horn in Brooklyn Heights for the 2020 campaign after the Terriers went 0-17 during their first foray into Division I soccer.
