Man fatally shot in head in Bushwick

A Brooklyn man was shot in the head and killed in Bushwick on the night of Halloween, police said Friday.

Naim Moore, 41, was found by cops with a bullet wound to the head around 9:00 p.m. near the corner of Eldert Street and Wilson Avenue. He was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A man was seen fleeing from the scene, police said. They do not know what sparked the shooting.

Moore lived in Canarsie.

Homicides are up in Bushwick this year, with eight people murdered as of Oct. 27 as opposed to six in the same period in 2018. There have been the same number of shootings — 11 — this year and last year in Bushwick through Oct. 27.

Murders are about even borough-wide this year compared to last year. In 2019 as of Oct. 27, 86 people had been murdered in Brooklyn, as opposed to 87 in 2018.

Citywide, however, murder is up about three percent compared to last year.
