District Attorney’s Office honors three during Hispanic Heritage Month ceremony

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez and his office hosted its own Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Brooklyn Law School on Tuesday and honored three people including keynote speaker Dr. Guillermo Linares.

Assistant District Attorneys Julieanne Yanez and Kenneth Carbajal served as the masters of ceremony for the event which also included speakers Diego Gomez Jaramillo, president of the BLS Student Bar Association, and Senior Assistant DA Giannina Berrocal. There were also musical performances by Asoyi Rumba.

In addition to Linares, this year’s honorees included Annie Minguez, director of government and community relations for Good Shepherd Services and members of the New York Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Response System.

As part of the event, Linares sat down with Queenie Paniagua, a past president of the Dominican Bar Association and assistant DA.
