Brooklyn Today: How 1 school sparked a measles crisis

THE LEDE: A single school’s decision to allow an unvaccinated child to attend class led to more than 40 measles cases and the eventual proliferation of the disease across New York City, a top health official said on Monday. Demetre Daskalakis, deputy commissioner of the city’s Department of Health, said Yeshiva Kehilath Yakov Pupa in Williamsburg was the catalyst for what would become the worst outbreak in decades — with 609 confirmed cases as of Monday.
