The Bay Ridge Lawyers Association is packing up and heading south for the winter. Not too far south, though — the organization will host its annual winter seminar in Atlantic City this weekend at the Tropicana hotel.

The seminar will include six guest speakers for five separate lectures worth a total of five continuing legal education credits. Those speakers are Hon. Frank Seddio; Charles G. Fiore; James Kasdon; Pery Krinsky; Janet McFarland, president of the Staten Island Women’s Bar Association; and Betsey Jean-Jacques.

The topics covered will include 1404 examinations and how to contest a will, what lawyers need to know when dealing with the NYC Public Administrator, condo and coop foreclosures, how to promote your law firm without worrying about ethical issues and updates in recent mental hygiene laws.

Members won’t just be listening to lectures for the entire trip, however. Thursday night starts with a welcome reception for members at Cuba Libre Restaurant in the Tropicana. Then on Friday night, guests will sit down for dinner together at The Palm.

“It’s a great time every year, where our members get an opportunity to spend time together while also fulfilling their CLE requirement,” said Joseph Vasile, president of the BRLA. “I’m excited for this year’s event because we’ve sold more tickets than ever before and we have some really great speakers.”
