Cops seek man wanted for breaking into van, stealing cash, cards in Gravesend

Cops are looking for a suspect in a vehicle break-in in Gravesend.

According to authorities, on Weds., Jan. 9, sometime between 1 and 5 a.m., the suspect got into a van parked near Cropsey Avenue and Bay 40th Street. Once inside, he stole $200, five credit cards and a video camera. He then fled the scene on a bicycle in an unknown direction.

According to the police, the perp subsequently used the victim’s credit cards to buy four packs of cigarettes at a grocery store on the corner of West 10th Street and Avenue U at around 9:30 a.m.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, 28 to 40 years old. He was last seen wearing black clothes.
