Car crashes into scaffolding in Brooklyn Heights, driver injured
A livery driver suffered a “medical emergency,” according to witnesses, and crashed into scaffolding on Cadman Plaza West near Clark Street around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
The motorist lost control of his Toyota Highlander with TLC license plates and crashed into the scaffolding, narrowly missing pedestrians and parked cars. He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital in an unknown condition.
The crash caused a massive collapse of the scaffolding that was protecting pedestrians during renovation of 101 Clark St. Cadman Plaza West leading to Court Street was closed to traffic until work crews could finish clearing the shattered sidewalk shed.
