A pair of Brooklyn attorneys active in the local bar associations, Michele Mirman and Richard Klass, were honored in the new year by separate organizations.

Michele Mirman, the immediate-past president of the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association and founding attorney of the law firm Mirman, Markovitz and Landau, was honored by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys as one of the “10 Best in New York” for client satisfaction.

The AIOPIA selected Mirman based on client and peer nominations and independent evaluation.

“As clients should be an attorney’s top priority, AIOPIA places the utmost emphasis on selecting lawyers who have achieved significant success in the field of Personal Injury law without sacrificing the service and support they provide,” said a statement issued by the AIOPIA.

“Selection criteria therefore focus on attorneys who demonstrate the highest standards of Client Satisfaction. We congratulate Michele S. Mirman on this achievement and we are honored to have her as a 2018 AIOPIA Member.”

Klass is the secretary at the Brooklyn Bar Association and is in line to become its president in 2022/2023. He will be honored by the New York State Bar Association during its annual meeting on Jan. 17 with the General Practice Section Award. The award is given to an attorney who has worked to improve daily practice for general practitioners in the state and and advocate for the profession.

“Klass practices primarily in commercial litigation, debt collection and enforcement of judgments, legal malpractice, and real estate litigation,” said a statement from the NYS Bar Association. “He is the former chair of the General Practice Section and co-editor of the NYSBA General Practice Section ‘One on One’ publication.”
