A serious food allergy is being investigated as the cause of death for an 11-year-old Canarsie boy.

On New Year’s Day, police were called to a home on East 82nd Street where Camron Jean-Pierre was found unconscious and unresponsive.

When the boy was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, he was pronounced dead. Jean-Pierre’s death was not deemed suspicious, a police department spokesman said.

The city’s medical examiner is investigating a possible pre-existing allergy to fish that may have caused Jean-Pierre’s death.
