Volunteer Lawyers Project adds Mark Lande and Michael Watson to board

The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) announced last week the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors.

Mark Lande, senior managing director and counsel at Island Capital Group LLC, and Michael Watson, investment analyst at the Ford Foundation, were elected to the board during a meeting on Dec. 11.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark and Michael to the VLP board,” said Jim Slattery, president of the VLP board of directors. “They bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the VLP’s mission, and we look forward to working together to strengthen the VLP’s impact throughout Brooklyn.”

Established in 1990, the VLP is a nonprofit organization that aims to help provide legal representation to those who cannot afford attorneys.
