Carroll Gardens eatery Prime Meats, a German restaurant known for its steaks, is closing on Sunday, Dec. 2. The owners Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli plan to expand their next-door Italian restaurant, Frankies 457 Spuntino, into the space, as well as establish a new wine bar, according to Eater.

From now until Sunday, the restaurant is offering a special farewell menu that includes dishes like wagyu beef tartare, roast chicken and bratwurst.

Prime Meats opened nine years ago. Castronovo told Eater that it never was as popular as the duo’s Italian restaurant next door. While Frankies 457 Spuntino was packed every day, Prime Meats “was more of a weekend restaurant,” he said.

The wine bar will open next week. During the expansion, Frankies 457 will continue to operate as usual, Eater reported.
