Woman struck by SUV crossing Hamilton Ave. in Red Hook

An elderly woman was struck and injured by an SUV as she tried to cross busy Hamilton Avenue at Court Street in Red Hook on Wednesday around 1:45 p.m.
The woman suffered multiple injuries and was treated by firefighters and EMS crews.
The driver, not immediately identified, stayed at the scene and maintained that he had a green light when the woman stepped off the curb walking north on Court Street.
The driver was not charged with any infractions, said police from the 76th Precinct.
The victim was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in stable condition, according to officials.
