Brooklyn Law School student wins inaugural Tacos, Trials and Talent contest

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle hosted the first ever Trials, Tacos and Talent event at Rocco’s Tacos in Downtown Brooklyn on Friday where judges and lawyers got an opportunity to show off some of their creative abilities.

Prizes were given out to the top contestants including comedian Emerald Gearing, a first year law school student at Brooklyn Law School, who won first place and $300.

Gearing was one of a group of standup comedians that also included Lance Weiss, Raj Sivaraman, Ivan Arguello Jr. and Kathryn Dunn.

There were also a few musical acts including Hon. Matthew J. D’Emic, who played solo without his band Whippoorwill, Hon. Lawrence Knipel, Wendy Lamanque and Terrence Brennan, and Kowk Kei Kg.

Kwok Kei Ng and his wife also performed.
